STANDARDS AND PRACTICES
The Cool As Hell Theatre Podcast aims to inspire, inform, educate and entertain listeners about all that is Cool As Hell on the Bay Area performing arts scene, and beyond. This Standards and Practices code was adopted by CASH and covers all producers, contributors and reviewers who participate in the creation of the program.
Our Standards
CASH strives to:
-be fair and accurate in its coverage of a person or issue
-feature a variety of voices and perspectives
-seek the truth
-identify opinion as opinion when expressed on the show
-be free of conflicts of interest related to material covered on CASH
-disclose potential conflicts of interest
-make ethical decision-making part of routine protocol
-create programming that goes beyond what’s offered by traditional media
Our Production Practices
CASH Producers and Contributers will:
-accurately reflect the viewpoint or position of the guest when editing audio
-strive to retain context in the final product when editing audio
-apply rigorous production standards uniformly to all episodes
-refrain from manipulating content in any way that might distort the truth
-represent themselves accurately when booking interviews
-represent the program accurately when booking interviews
Our Editorial Practices
CASH Producers and Contributers will:
-ultilize research skills and knowledge-based applications to ensure accuracy
-prepare for interviews in advance
-make content choices that advance the listener’s understanding of the topic
-make content choices that give voice to a range of individuals
-approach content thoughtfully, authentically, and creatively
-seek guidance when ethical or editorial questions arise
